Cat8 jacks and plugs are fully screened termination components certified to 2000 MHz, carrying 25G/40GBASE-T over a 30 metre data centre channel. RJ45 backward compatibility is retained, so the same port can also serve Cat6A and lower classes when needed. Termination tolerances at this class are very tight: screen continuity and pair untwist must follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly.
